The relationship between a former army officer, erroneously cashiered from service for something he did not do, and his father is the focus of the plot of When Night Falls. The father is a Christian physician who has married a Jewish girl back in Germany and has arrived in Israel with her. He has lived all his life at her side, as a full agnostic. Both father and son are going through an acute crisis when the encounter takes place.

After graduating from the Film Department of Tel Aviv University, Eitan Green has served as a lecturer on cinema, a film critic and a television editor. He has also directed short and full-length films.
