Till Asimov freaked out on it, science fiction was an oxymoron to the world. And after the baton was taken up by George Lucas very successfully, scores of filmmakers from tinsel town tried to bag it from him. The result: a genre that has since then been creating a school of fans, and great advancements in the special effects division of films. And now, some of the colossuses in this genre are in the offing for us Hyderabadis for a week.
A sci-fi movie festival is happening at Skyline theater from the 1st to the 7th of June 2001. And this is your chance to catch up on any of the best sci-fi thrillers and action films ever that you've missed out on, which will feature Hollywood megastars like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Hanks. Twenty-eight films will be screened for seven days in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. And there are about 2,000 free tickets up for grabs in each city! The tickets will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis.
