The Nawab of Rampur had the best cooks (300 of them, each a master in his own speciality). In an effort to recreate these tastes, the Taj Banjara is organizing a Rampuri Food Festival at the Kebeb-E-Bahar, from 23rd May to 1st June.
In this feast for all the senses from the Dastar-khan of Rampur, there is a trove of palate-teasing dishes like Rampuri Mahi Korma, Kathal Korma, Taar Korma, Chapli Kebabs, Raan-e-Degh, Arbi Ka Salan, Shola Rice, Lahsun Ka Pulao, Gullati, Adrak Ka Halwa, Aloe Vera Dessert and Kayasthana Gosht.
Rampur is situated just 180km from Delhi, which was the Mughal seat. It is a place where rulers like the Mughals, Rohellas and Rajputs reigned supreme. The food here is characterized by its fiery flavor, and especially by the slow simmering style of cooking on a very low flame. Its homemade aromatic herbs and delicate flavors distinguish the cuisine.
The festival is available a la carte for dinner only. Please contact the restaurant at 6666-9999 for further details.
