What's a little religion between you and an evening of rock? Planetshakers is going to be heavy, so God save you. Even they're asking for the same.
The Joyce Meyer Ministries is organising a Christian Rock Concert by the Australian-based band Planetshakers, on 29th, 30th and 31st March, at the Shilpakala Vedika. After rocking Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, USA, UK and Canada, besides Australia, the band is performing in India for the first time.
Planetshakers is a Christian youth movement in Australia, originally founded by Russell Evans at the Paradise Community Church in Adelaide. The ministry is now based in Melbourne, and is part of Planetshakers City Church. It runs annual conferences in most Australian states, and plays Christian pop and rock music.
The first conference was held in Adelaide in 1997 and had 300 delegates, growing to reach 25,000 nation-wide by 2007. The Planetshakers Conference 2007 marks the 11th anniversary. Conference speakers have in the past included Glen Berteau, Jurgen Matthesius, Rich Wilkerson, Mal Fletcher, Pat Schazline, Matthew Barnett, Reggie Dabbs and Chris Hill.
At present, it's headed by Glen Berteau, Russell Evans and Henry Seeley. Internationally in 2007, the Planetshakers band will tour and play at events in Hong Kong, Indianapolis, the UK, South Africa, New Zealand, Malaysia and South Africa, in addition to India. The band has released 11 albums in a span of 7 years, from the year 2000 to 2006. Some of the albums that are heard the world over are When The Planet Rocked, Open Up The Gates, Reflector, Phenomena, Always And Forever, and Arise.
Joyce Meyer Ministries (JMM) was founded by Joyce Meyer in 1980, and has since served millions of people across the globe, through the ten foreign offices. In India, the JMM operates through the Asia headquarter office at Nanakramguda, Hyderabad, that was opened in 2004. The ministry provides a helping hand to the needy and reaches the hungry, the prisoners, the youth, and others throughout the world. It preaches Christianity and the Bible through the conferences, and music concerts.
The entry to the concert is free for all three days, and starts daily at 6:00pm. For further details, please contact Prasanna at 98660-23461 or Kennedy at 98485-42602.
