If you watch this concert, 4 government schools will improve dramatically. And even if they didn't, you'd still get your money's worth. For, it's The Man, at The Venue.
The Hyderabad Ladies Circle 43 (LC43) and the Hyderabad Round Table 8 (HRT8), together with event managers SNAP Bangalore, are organising a Pankaj Udhas Musical Nite on 19th November 2006 at the Taramati Baradari Open Air Auditorium.
Udhas has an excellent fan following in the twin cities, and holds a special place in the heart of discerning music lovers. He has rendered playback for many Bollywood films since the early 1970s, but his claim to fame was Naam (1986), for the ghazal Chitti Aayi Hai, which made him a household name.
Udhas has done many other albums outside the film industry, singing ghazal compilations and performing around the world. He has toured with his brother Manhar and many other ghazal singers too. He is acclaimed as one of the best ghazal singers of our times.
LC43 and HRT8 are community-service organizations focused in programs of improvement in the educational infrastructure of Hyderabad and secunderabad. Over the years, they have also obtained exemplary fund-raising skills, a necessity to keep up the pace of their community service activities. These strengths have placed LC43 and HRT8 firmly in the hearts and minds of discriminating Hyderabadis, who have a penchant for community service activities, such as art, movies and music.
The proceeds through this event will be utilised towards building 4 schools over the next 12 months, such as:
LC43-HRT8 Govt. Primary School, NBT Nagar (Budgeted outlay: Rs. 26 lakhs)
HRT8 Govt. UP School, Patigadda (Budgeted outlay: Rs. 40 lakhs)
