The Department Of Biotechnology, Chaitanya Bharathi Institute Of Technology, is organising an annual technical symposium, Neozion 2008, on 7th & 8th March, at the CBIT campus in Gandipet. This symposium will have several technical events such as paper presentations, poster presentations and bio quizzes, and also fun events like a treasure hunt. A detailed list of events happening at this 2-day fest:
Paper Presentation
This event is a beacon of light for all those who are deeply involved in researching the different dimensions of science and engineering. It is designed to refine concepts, and to help develop a scientific attitude and an approach towards problem statements. Participants are required to present their ideas on the following topics:
Bio Management
Bio Chemical
Bio Medical
Pharmaceuticals
Nanotechnology
Genetics
Environmental Biotechnology
Bio Informatics
Poster Presentation
Awaken the designer in you; get ready to communicate your research and results by combining text and graphics and mapping out vivid, easily comprehendible and visually pleasing posters. The topics are the same as for paper presentation, with the exception of Bio Informatics.
BioManager
A young manager and a future entrepreneur contest. This event has three rounds - a general aptitude test which will be your primary screening, a GD and a case study.
Venturist
Be a venture capitalist. Rs. 2,000 will be given, and the participant is required to invest in the stock market.
Treasure Hunt
Participants are required to solve riddles, chase clues, dig the dirt and get to the treasure.
Bio-Quiz
A quiz dedicated to the subject of biotechnology. It consists of prelims and finals.
Symposium
Two experts in their fields will come together to talk about a biotech project. They are Dr. P Reddanna (HCU) and Karuppan Chetty (ICRISAT).
