The state government, in association with the Film Development Corporation, is organizing an 8-day cultural film festival, the first of its kind, to promote tourism in state. A nine member committee was constituted with producer D Ramanaidu as the chairman to select the films and organize the festival. 8 films, both old and new, showcasing the rich culture of the state have been selected for screening during the festival at the open air theater.
The festival will commence on the A P Formation Day on November 1 with the screening of the film Sri Krishna Tulabharam. Sri Krishna Pandaveeyam, Dana Veera Soora Karna, Meghasandesam, Kurukshetram, Swayamkrushi, Bhairava Dweepam, Kalisundam Raa and Annamayya are the other films that will be screened. The actors in the respective films will also be felicitated.
A photo exhibition on N T Rama Rao, S V Ranga Rao, Kannamba and Savitri will also be held. Also, hour-long cultural programs reflecting the heritage of the state will be organized every day before the screening of the films. Food courts will be set up at the film festival.
