For aficionados of old Telugu film songs, there are good ways and there are great ways of spending a Saturday evening. There is no doubt which category this one falls into.
Srikalanidhi is organising a musical nite on 2nd June at Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha. Renowned amateur singers like Chandrateja, Vijaya Lakshmi, Amantha, Venkateshwar Rao, Pulla Rao and Renuka will be singing some old melodies of Ghantasala, SPB, Suseela, Janaki and Jikki. The orchestra support for the recital will be provided by Brahmanandam on the keyboard, Nagaraju on the tabla, Surya Teja on the flute, and by Gangadhar and Phani Bhushan, the other accompanying artistes. The chief guest for the evening is Dr C Narayana Reddy.
Srikalanidhi was established in 2002 by Amantha, an amateur singer and a music lover, to promote movie music. Musical nites are organised every month, which are also a get-together for these singers. For further details, please contact Amantha at 98492-98109.
