The AP State Mini Junior Tennis Tournament: Events in Hyderabad

Summer for most kids in town is fast moving from vacation-time to tennis-time. Here's the latest in a zillion tournaments this year.

Surya Tennis Foundation will organise the A P State Mini Junior Tennis Tournament for Under-10 and Under-12 boys and girls, from 2nd to 5th June, at the Pallavi Model School playground in Bowenpally. 32 players each in the Under-10 and Under-12 boys and girls categories will clash against each other in the main draw singles matches.

There will be no doubles matches, and the entries will close on 31st May. If the entries exceed more than the stipulated limit of 32 players in each category, qualification rounds will be conducted on the 1st and 2nd of June.

The matches start at 7:30am in the morning and close at 11:30am for the first session, and will be held between 2:30pm and 6:00pm for the second session. All matches will be played in the knockout format, on clay court surfaces. The entry fee per participant is Rs. 150. Shields and cups will be awarded to the winners and runners-up, and participation certificates will be given all the participants of the main draw.
