Mark of Freedom International Rock Music Festival is a benefit concert organized by Care Hyderabad and Mahalife.com. The proceeds of this festival will be used towards helping the street children of the twin cities. The festival will showcase six powerful rock bands from all over the world. The overseas bands Dependants, Overflow and 7th hour will perform along with the local bands Salt, Native Tongue (formerly Engraven) and Revelation.
Dependents is a three-member band that has been together for around a year and a half. The band consists of Josh Watkins, USA, drums; Jason Pelling, Australia, lead guitar and vocals; and Luke Parker, New Zealand, lead vocals and bass guitar. These guys met up in Australia while doing social work in high schools and decided to form this band. Their style is alternative rock and roll. They have to their credit many original songs and some popular rock covers.
Overflow is a more recently formed band, having played together for around 3 months. These talented musicians are great as a cover rock band as well as in playing a couple of originals. The members are Steven David, Canada, lead vocals and lead guitar; Joseph Rambeck, USA, bass guitar; Mikkel Olesen, Denmark, drums; and Luke Wilcox, Australia, vocals. Also included is powerful guest vocalist Corey Sutter, USA.
7th Hour is also a recently formed cover band that performs hard hitting rock songs from the 80s and early 90s as well as recent rock hits. With songs by artists such as Bon Jovi, Guns 'n' Roses and POD, they are sure to light up the stage. The band members are Jakob, Denmark, lead vocals; Christine, Germany, vocals; Brad, Canada, lead guitar; Ryan Mitchell, USA, bass guitar; and Gabriel Boucher, Canada, drums.
The rock fest will also present freestyle rap, street skateboarding exhibition, and stunning visual effect and music videos.
