Most of us would like to become an instant Mahavira, but the only known cure is to take an elephant ride across town and celebrate his Jayanthi.
Sri Jain Sewa Sangh is celebrating Mahavir Jayanthi this week. The celebrations will start on the 17th of April, with Chandrababu Naidu inaugurating the program. Ashoka Gemavat and troupe are coming from Mumbai to render bhajans in honor of Lord Mahavira. During the evening, Mahavir Jayanthi Puruskaars will be given to select people from the field of public service and culture.
The week-long celebrations will see the Sri Jain Sewa Sangh distributing clothes and food to the needy.
On the 22nd of April, a grand march will be conducted which will see the devout collecting with elephants and helicopters, at Feelkhana at 8am and moving towards the Nizam College. The Chief Minister Y S R Reddy is expected to deliver a speech on the occasion.
Later, the evening will see some fabulous bhajan renditions by artists from Indore, including Palak and group.
