What lifescapes, you ask? Just a few days before their God failed them, a software engineer took photographs of a people that were. And Shobha Kamineni, Sangita Reddy and Aparna Reddy, along with Apollo Hospitals and the Taj Group, are organizing an exhibition of these, titled "Lifescapes In Kutch", to help the surviving artisans and craftsmen in those quake-hit regions.
The photographs displayed here have been taken by Vetteth, a software engineer from the region. Photography is Vetteth's hobby, and these show the daily lives of the people of Kutch and the neighboring regions. The womenfolk, children, craftsmen, natural scenery, bullock carts and water holes are quite pleasing to watch, and fill you with poignancy when you realize how swiftly and painfully it all ended.
The proceeds from the sale of these photographs will go towards the rehabilitation effort and will be directly administered by the Kutch Mahila Vikas Sangathan.
