This Sunday, Shilparamam is organising a Kuchipudi dance recital by Anupama & group as part of its weekend program of classical dance. Anupama, along with Harika, Shruthi, Keertana, Moulika, Gouthami, Usha, Jyotsna and eight other kids will start with a Puja Nrityam, and follow it up with Annamayya's Brahmamu Okkate, Alamelu Manga and Adigo Alladigo, a Tarangam Neela Megha Shareera, Dashavataralu, Jaya Jayahe and a Lingashtakam.
The orchestra for the evening is by Govind Reddy and Balaji Kumar with the vocals and nattuvangam respectively, Bhanu Prasad on the mridangam and Anil Kumar on the violin.
The dancers are all disciples of Balaji Kumar. Anupama is a software engineer with Satyam Computers. She has been learning under Balaji Kumar for the last two years, after learning under various teachers previously. She has completed her certificate course in Kuchipudi from the Telugu University.
Balaji Kumar is a disciple of various gurus, like Vempati Chinnasatyam, Dr. Alekhya and Bhagavatula Sethuram. Completely devoted to dance, he was awarded the Natya Mayuri and Natya Kalabharathi titles. He is a B-grade panel artist of Doordarshan. He is the founder of Sai Durga Dance Institute in Borabanda.
