The Brilliant Trophy State Open Chess Tournament: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR THE BRILLIANT TROPHY STATE...

The Andhra Pradesh Chess Association is organising the 17th Brilliant Trophy A P State Open Prize Money Chess Tournament, between the 8th and 9th of September, at the Brilliant Grammar High School at Dilsukhnagar. The matches will be held in the Under-9, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14 and Open Age categories, in both the boys and the girls sections. The registration fee is Rs. 150, and spot entries will also be accepted.

The tournament will be conducted in the Sicilian format on a league basis. Every player has to play all the other players in his category, and on the basis of these performances, winners will be announced on the final points scored.

Prizes worth Rs. 10,000 will be given away to 20 players. 5 prizes will be given to the top five players in the open category, and 5 prizes will be given to the top performers in the Under-9, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14 and Veterans categories. Players to represent Andhra Pradesh state for the under-9 nationals will be selected in this tournament.
