If you are a budding poet, you are in a minority. And if you are a budding Telugu poet, you are an endangered species. The encouraging news is that some people are aware of this. And since recognition is art's most fruitful source of nutrition, the Pyramid Cultural Association has decided that it is bringing poets into the limelight that will save the dying tradition. And so here is a rare get-together of poets for a common cause - poetry.
The Pyramid Cultural Association was started a year back with an intention to promote cultural activities in the twin cities, primarily Kavi Sammelans, which are fading away fast due to the lack of awareness among the people. Started by Manish Munglani, this organization is striving hard to bring Kavi Sammelans into the forefront of the activities that us Hyderabadis appreciate.
On the evening of the 9th, the organization is hosting a Kavi Sammelan where eleven budding poets are going to take part. The kavis, who are all getting on stage for the first time, are Kiran Kumar, Aasharam, Om Vyas, Madhumita Shukla, Sasikanth Yadav, Ravindra Sharma, Nafisa Bharathi, Sampath Saral, Yousuf Bharadwaj, Sandeep Sharma, Aashyam Qureshi and Neelam Kashyap.
This organization is also planning to organize a major Dandiya Night in November. Please contact Manish at 781-5205 for further details.
