Natya Tarangini, Raja & Radha Reddy's Institute Of Kuchipudi Dance, is back with the 2008 edition of Parampara - National Festival Of Music And Dance, from the 3rd to the 4th of October 2008, at Ravindra Bharathi.
Natya Tarangini has been organizing annually the national music and dance festivals titled Parampara for the last 10 years in Delhi. Last year (2007), Natya Tarangini organized the series for the first time in Hyderabad, with the title 'Andhri', from 31st August to 2nd September 2007, at Ravindra Bharathi, and the event was inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Dr. Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
This year's festival is being inaugurated by Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Minister for Major Irrigation, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
On 5th October, the 3rd day of the festival, Kathak will be presented by Jayant Kastuar. There will also be a Carnatic violin recital by Ganesh and Kumaresh.
Jayant Kastuar
Jayant Kastuar is an accomplished Kathak dancer. He was a disciple of renowned Kathak exponent the late Durga Lal. Jayant Kastuar is the secretary of the Sangeet Natak Akademi.
Ganesh & Kumaresh
Ganesh-Kumaresh, the world-renowned violin duo, are known for their scintillating and spirited recitals for three decades.
Their trysts both at home and abroad have not been with just audiences of Indian origin but have also captivated audiences across the world. Trained by their father Rajagopalan, Ganesh and Kumaresh completed their 100th stage appearance before the younger brother was 10 years old. By the time they reached their teens, they were rubbing shoulders with veterans in musical field.
In 1983, M G Ramachandran made them State Artistes of Tamil Nadu. Ganesh and Kumaresh have also been honoured as Asthana Vidwans of the Sri Matam of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam.
Apart from performing, they score music for film and dance productions. Their music for the movies 'Dance Like A Man' and 'Chandrikai' is widely appreciated. Some of their musical productions are 'Colours Of India', Navarasa', 'Shadjam', 'Aksharam', 'Carnatic Chills', 'Expressions', 'Samarpan' and 'Brahmma'.
