In memory of late producer-director K B Tilak who passed away on 23rd September at the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, the Hyderabad Film Club is organising a film festival from 20th to 24th October, at the Sarathi Studios, Ameerpet. One film will be screened everyday at 6pm, during the festival.
Korlipara Balagangadhara Tilak (K B Tilak) is a film director and producer who had directed many hit movies in Telugu, including MLA, Bhoomi Kosam, Muddu Bidda, Atta Oka Inti Kodale, Eedu Jodu, Kolleti Kapuram, Chitti Tammudu and Dharmavaddi.
Tilak was born in Denduluru in West Godavari district, in 1926. He was the nephew of the film legend the late L V Prasad. He also directed Hindi films like Kangan and Choti Bahu, both of which were hits. He made Dharmapatni in Marathi and Maamiyaarum Oru Veetu Marumgaley in Tamil. He won the B N Reddy National Award in 2008.
