Stuff you can't cook all by yourself, and stuff that you probably can't even pronounce all by yourself. But in all, stuff that Middle-Eastern & East-European exoticity is made of.
Promenade, the multi-cuisine restaurant of Aditya Park Hotel in Ameerpet, is presenting a Mediterranean Food Festival from 22nd to 31st October. In-house Chef Vijay, with 18 years of experience in kitchens of the Middle East, will supervise the festival.
The event offers various lip-smacking delicacies from countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea, and the spread consists of an array of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes - from starters to main course to desserts.
By and large, Mediterranean cuisine is characterized by its flexibility, its range of ingredients, and its many regional variations. The food presents a wide variety of choices, as it is derived from the cuisines of countries that are located around the Mediterranean Sea - Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Albania, Syria, Israel, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya and Morocco.
Owing to the terrain in the Mediterranean region, which is conducive to the raising of goats and sheep, there is abundance of this meat in the cuisine. Seafood dishes are also common, while the other common items include bread, grains, lentils, fresh vegetables, fruits, rice, pasta and nuts. In addition, olive oil and garlic are the pillars of most of the recipes. Grilled meats, pita bread, hummus and falafel are popular forms of the Eastern type of Mediterranean cuisine.
This festive spread will see a wide range of Mediterranean specialties, including Hummus, Motabal, Fattoush, Babaganoush, Spinach Fattayer, Sambousek, Samke Harra, Shish Kabab, Shish Taouk, Lamb Chops, Roasted Chicken, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Ratatouille, Lasagna, Spaghetti, Cioppino Fish Stew, Arroz Cubano and Arabic Rice.
Desserts include Umm Ali, Mohallabiah, Qatayef, Baklawas, Mafruka, Kunafa, Sahlab, Profiteroles, Spanish Natillas, Chocolate Mousse and Tiramisu, to name a few.
The dishes of this festival can be savoured for dinner only, from 7pm to 11pm, on all days. The buffet costs Rs. 400 per head, and taxes are as applicable. Please contact 6678-8888 / 92468-87195 for further details.
