Most would opine that a year is too short a period to attain excellence, but for these people it is all in the attitude. Indeed, they seem pretty good at that thing you just don't seem to be able to break into - you are excellent if you think you are. Well, if they think they are excellent, it's time for celebration, 1 year or not. So here they go.
The Vivekananda Institute Of Human Excellence is celebrating its first anniversary starting on September 8. A youth convention for college students in the age group of 18 to 25 will be held on the first day, which will include a cultural program and a CD-ROM show titled 'Parables Of Sri Ramakrishna'.
A one-day spiritual retreat program for the public will be organized on September 9. This program starts at 8.30am and features Vedic chanting, reading, meditation, talks, devotional music, a question-answer session and a Carnatic violin recital by Ronu Majumdar.
On the last day, a Teachers' Convention will be held from 9.00am to 4.00pm. The public meeting will be followed at the end of the day by a santoor recital by Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, at 6.30pm.
