And here's the one niche not covered in art yet - works from the perspective of criminals. And it's just one of several mushrooms of new creativity here.
A group of 11 artists are organising an exhibition of their paintings and sculpture from 1st January, at Chitramayee - State Gallery of Fine Arts. The group comprises of Lester Anthony Paul, Stenier Paul, Sukka Sunder, V S Ravikanth, K A Babu, Joseph, Surya, B Karuna, Lingaraju, Narayana Kutty and Suresh.
All the artists have completed their master's degree in their fields, and are exhibiting their talents in paintings and sculpture. The works reflect their general and imaginary thinking, and so are themed as Heart To Art. The painters have painted their thoughts on canvas and on paper with oil paints and acrylic colors, and the sculptors have used wood, fiber and glass as their media.
Lester Anthony and Stenier Paul have painted the thoughts of children and their childhood, while Sukka Sunder has created his works from the perspective of criminals. Today's world of stress and pressure have taken a toll of mankind, and choosing this as their theme, V S Ravikanth and K A Babu have carved their sculpture.
Joseph, Surya, Karuna and Lingaraju use canvas to explain the life cycles and the impact of planets on the life of a man. Narayana Kutty and Suresh have used the strokes of the brush to arrest consumers' behaviour and their thoughts, and absent-minded people.
The exhibition is on till 8th January from 11:00am to 7:00pm. For further details, please contact the art gallery at 2311-3308/98486-66262.
