Cross concentration, resonance, command over poetic metres, creativity and wide scholarship, and what have you? Chaitanya Arts from Parlakemidi in Orissa is organising Ghantasala Avadhanam by Dr Sayyed Rahmatullah.
Avadhanam is a literary feat which involves all the above mentinoed prerequisites, namely concentration, resonance, command over poetic metres, creativity and wide scholarship. In Dasavadhanam, the Avadhani (the scholar) takes on ten subjects posed by Prucchakas (subject scholars) at a time, while in Satavadhanam, he takes hundred subjects at a time.
Dr Rahmatullah would be performing the Dasavadhanam, in Telugu. The ten music prucchakas are Bala Kameshwar Rao, Y R Sastry, Ravinder, Prabhakar, Muralidhar, Hemachalam, Akhila, Vijaalakshmi, Indira and Usha Vinod.
The prucchakas would first ask ten questions relating to Ghantasala songs, to which Dr Rahmatullah would have to listen to all the ten questions poised by the Prucchakas, memorise them and answer all the questions to the each of the ten Prucchakas one by one.
On this occassion, a musical nite on Ghantasala songs would be performed by Akhila and Bala Kameshwar Rao, with the orchestra by Surya Teja and Pandu.
The chief guest for the evening is Dr P Madhusudan Rao, Director of Doordarshan. Special guest, R V Ramana Murthy, Renowned Film Producer. Honorary Guest, Dr K V Rao, President of Ghantasala Gana Sabha.
Dr Rahmatulla, Bala Kameshwar Rao and Akhila would be conferred, Ghantasala Avadhana Srashtha, Gaana Gandharva and Gaana Saraswati respectively, by the guests.
