Felicitation On Mubarak Begum: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR FELICITATION ON MUBARAK BEGUM

Rafi Foundation, Hyderabad, will be felicitating Mubarak Begum, on 5th July, at the A V College auditorium, Domalguda. Chittaranjan, a popular playback singer of the Telugu film industry, will be felicitating Mubarak Begum.

Begum was a renowned Bollywood playback singer in 1950s and 1960s. She has performed alongside stalwarts such as Mohd Rafi and Mukesh, and also lent her voice to the songs of many famous music directors. She will be singing some of her songs this evening, including her ever-popular duet Mujhe Apne Gale Lago Lo with Mohd Rafi, albiet this time her accompanying artist isn't likely to be Mohd Rafi. The local artists from the Rafi Foundation will be accompanying her during the event.

Rafi Foundation, Hyderabad, is an informal organization, registered to the Rafi Foundation, Mumbai. It basically consists of a group of music lovers in Hyderabad, whose passion for Mohd Rafi brought them together. Their work consists of arranging singing sessions, spreading information by putting up articles on Mohd Rafi on the website, and other such activities to popularize the singer. This is the first such event that they are organizing.
