REVIEW FOR NARAYANA THEERTHA BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
A P Kalavedika is organizing the birthday celebrations of renown saint composer Narayana Theertha, on 5th July, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha. Theertha is known for his fabulous compositions including Rukmini Kalyanam and tarangam. Chidrupi and Ramaprabha will be singing some tarangams, and J Eshwar Prasad will be performing the Nritya Sanketam to these.
A P Kalavedika was founded in 1981 by late Anjaiah, ex-chief minister of A P. Its activities are now managed by R V Ramana Murthy, the co-founder. It has organized numerous cultural events including award functions, felicitations, classical music concerts and musical nites. Some of the popular playback singers to have featured in its programs include Adnan Sami, Asha Bhonsle, O P Nayyar and S P Balasubramanium.
