39 paintings by 18 artists are on display here. The only place to find more diversity is a comprehensive charge-sheet against TRS legislators!
A group exhibition of 39 paintings by 18 artists is on at Gallery Space in MLA Colony, Road No. 12, from 27th April. The participating artists in this exhibition are Adimoolan, Ajit Dube, Anand Panchal, Kavita Dueskar, Krishna Reddy, J M S Mani, Sayeeda Ali, Shah Jahan, N Srinivas, Raghunathan, Rajavelu, Safdar, Shipra Bhattacharya, Shymal Mukherjee, Subratha Pal, Udaya, Vijay Kumar and Vimala.
Most of the paintings on display are figurative, with some abstracts in tow. The artists have chosen different media, such as oil paints, acrylic paints and charcoal. As always, there is a painting on Lord Ganesha, and many paintings on women in different moods, portraits etc.
Adimoolan is a Chennai-based artist from the Govt. College Of Arts And Crafts, Chennai. He is exhibiting only one of his works, a pen drawing of the dancing Nataraja. Ajit Dube also has only one painting with acrylic colors on display.
Anand Panchal is from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune, and his paintings are portraits of young women. Kavitha Deuskar is a graduate in Painting & Sculpture from College Of Fine Arts & Architecture, JNTU. Her exhibit is a single painting on a rural woman.
Krishna Reddy is exhibiting two paintings of dry pastels and pen. Raghunandan's three works are abstract, while Rajavelu has four figurative ones of Srikrishna with gopikas, and gopikas with cows and horses.
Shipra Bhattacharya has three paintings - portraits of colorful women. Shyamal Mukherjee has two acrylic on acrylic sheet paintings of bald baniyas, and Subratho Pal has four paintings, one on Ganesha and the other three on traditional Bengali women.
Udaya is displaying one painting of acrylic colors on an acrylic sheet, a portrait of two pretty women, while Vimala has one painting of an urban woman sipping her morning coffee, and Vijay Kumar is displaying a portrait of a naked woman.
