It's the International Earth Day today, and among 2 free screenings here is one that NASA and James Cameron worked together for. Well, the earth surely deserves it.
Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad, in collaboration with The Bird Watchers' Society of Andhra Pradesh, is presenting two films - Voyage Into The Abyss and Aliens Of The Deep - on the occasion of the International Earth Day on 22nd April, at the German Association's office in Hermitage Complex, Opp AP Legislative Assembly.
6pm - Voyage Into The Abyss
This is a collaborative science education outreach effort produced by Volcanic Ocean Films Inc., an affiliate of The Stephen Low Company together with Rutgers University. Filmed from a submersible called the Alvin, the movie is among the first exclusively illuminated, super-high fidelity footage of deep-sea biological communities near hydrothermal vents sites in the Atlantic and Pacific.
6:45pm - Aliens Of The Deep
A fascinating coverage where James Cameron & scientists from NASA explore the Mid-Ocean Ridge, a submerged chain of mountains that band the earth and are home to some of the planet's most unique life forms.
Entry to both the screenings is free. Please contact Goethe-Zentrum at 6552-6443 for further details.
