Dramanon Hyderabad is presenting an English & Hindi play, Rahul Varma's "Bhopal", on 16 December, at Nift Auditorium, at 7:30pm.

Bhopal is a play on the events preceding and succeeding one of the worst industrial disasters of all time - The Bhopal gas tragedy, that took place in the dawn of 3rd December, 1984. On that fateful day, an explosion of poisonous gas left the people of Bhopal in a state of misery, pain and helplessness. It is said that there are 350,000 registered medical files, 200,000 temporary disabilities, 150,000 permanent disabilities on record.

Written by Rahul Varma, the play tells the story of how complex forces struggled to bury the truth, expose it, or shape it in accordance with corporate self-interest.

Dramanon (short for Dramatist Anonymous) is an English theatre group that operates out of three cities in India - Hyderabad, Manipal and Bangalore. Dramanon Hyderabad has staged over 12 productions so far.

Tickets to the play cost Rs. 300 & Rs. 400, with early bird discounts of Rs. 100 for those who purchase them before Dec 9th.
