Chitramayee State Art gallery is conducting an exhibition of paintings by various artists. To catch a glimpse of the paintings, head there between 12th August and 16th August. The exhibition is on view from 11am to 7pm everyday.
The collection is a mix of oil, acrylic and water color paintings by 7 artists - J Koteshwar Rao, C S Goplalakrishna, Meera Prabhakar, P Anupama, Sujatha Venkat, M Sujatha and Kamakshi Rajaram - who are students of Siri Oil Painting institute. The inauguration of the paintings will be done by Swaranjit Sen (Retd. IPS & Chairman of AP Tourism Corporation Limited) on 12th August, at 6pm.
Koteshwar Rao is a budding artist, and this is his first exhibition, in which he has experimented with oil and water colors. C S Gopalakrishna joined Siri institute in 2006 and paints in oil, acrylics and water colors. His motivation is life around him, that he brings alive on canvas.
Meera Prabhakar held an exhibition of her paintings at the Lions Club in 1976, and since then, has participated in exhibitions held at YMCA. She joined Siri institute after retiring from her job in 2006. For Anupama, oil painting has been a hobby since childhood. She joined Siri Oil Painting institute to pursue her passion, and has earlier participated in exhibitions held at Lalitha Kala Academy (Vishakapatanam & Srikakulam). Under the guidance of Sri Swamy, she participated in the exhibitions at ICCR, Shilparamam and Ravindra Bharati.
Sujatha Venkat is a self-motivated artist, who did her fashion designing from NIFT, Hyderabad. She is into all forms of painting, and has participated in many exhibitions, including one titled Profile Of A Legend (based on portraits of Dr. Akkeneni Nageswara Rao).
M Sujatha started painting as a hobby in her childhood. She specializes in oil, water colors and Nirmal paintings. She received many awards in school and college competitions, and she has also participated in Profile Of A Legend, besides in the India Art Competition in 2008.
Kamakshi has been a student of Siri Oil Painting institute for the past 6 years. She has likes oil paintings, and has participated in a painting exhibition at ITC Kakatiya in 2006.
