Two of the best-known names in Indian music are coming to the best-known place
on the outskirts of town. Okay, we did our best for this one, already. Is it our
fault that it's 30 kilometers? Still, this one just might be worth a ride back
home at 1am.

Treasure Island is presenting 'Dhinak Dhin Dhaaa', a music show featuring ace percussionist Taufiq Qureshi and DMC Champion DJ Nasha today for the music lovers of Hyderabad.

Taufiq Qureshi

Taufiq Qureshi, the youngest son of the legendary tabla maestro late Ustad Allahrakha Khan and brother of the world famous percussionist Ustad Zakir Hussain, has always had music in his blood. After diversifying his skills in playing the tabla to various other instruments of percussion, Taufiq is now one of the most successful classical and fusion percussionists on the world music stage.

He has dabbled with the small screen, too, having composed the title music for
many serials. He has also worked in Bollywood with movies such as Mission Kashmir,
Asoka and Dil Chahta Hai to name a few. He has also composed India's
first world music album, "Rhydhun - An Odyssey of Rhythm" - an album based solely
on Rhythm.

He has performed as a percussionist with a host of international luminaries including Zakir Hussain, Jeremy Spencer of Fleetwood Mac, Sivamani, Louis Banks, Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt, T H Vinayakam, Dinshaw Sanjana and Ranjit Barot. A frequent participant in international jazz festivals, he has played with India's premier rock band, Indus Creed, and regularly composes music for films, TV serials and theater pieces. A 'self-taught' seeker of world rhythm, his versatility and mastery transcends a wide range of instruments ranging from the earthy Indian 'duff', the 'dumroo', the 'midal tarang' and 'dumbak', to the Cuban 'batajon', the African 'djembe' and, of course, the South American 'bongo'.

DJ Nasha

Deejay Nasha, the new revolutionary disc jockey who was India's entry into the World DJ mixing championships some time back, is currently the India's No. 1 DJ & DMC champion.

His original tribal and techno-aced compositions from his debut music album are a craze now. Nasha is often busy arranging music for the private parties that have included premiere shows of movies like Lagaan, Aks, Yaadein and Refugee. Nasha has also performed at parties for international stars like Dogstar, No Mercy and UB 40.
