A more upmarket part of town is being paid a visit by a more traditional achiever of town today. Be there for the sparks.
Kalasagaram is organising its monthly musical program, this time a Carnatic vocal concert by J Chidrupa Lakshmi, at the Kalasagaram premises, West Marradpally, on the 29th of October. Lakshmi will be accompanied for the recital by O Rajashekar on the violin and K Rajagopalacharya on the mridangam.
Chidrupa Lakshmi was a disciple of the late Chavali Krishna Murty of Vijayawada, and received advanced training under Neti Srirama Sarma and Akella Mallikarjuna Sarma. She has an MA in vocal from the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University. She is an A-Grade artiste of the All India Radio, and a B-Grade artiste of Doordarshan.
In addition to her performaces in Hyderabad, she has also performed in Bangalore, Vizag, Vijayawada and Kumbakonam. She runs a school of music and dance by the name of Swara Banghima at Neredmet, and also gives vocal support to nritya sankeertanas, and the dance and bhajan programs of her husband, J S Eshwar Prasad.
