Kalakriti Art Gallery is presenting a solo show by Sarai Neha, titled Breathing Signs. The preview of the exhibition is on 1st November, from 7pm, and the exhibition is on until 8th November, everyday from 11am to 7pm.
Sarai N was born on 26th September, 1975, in Shimla. She has an honours' degree in philosophy from St. Stephens College, Delhi University, and a Masters in Fine Arts from M S University in Baroda. Her works have been exhibited in group shows in Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Besides participating in workshops in Cochin and Mumbai, she has been a visiting artist at Beaux-Arts Nantes (France).
Breathing Signs is a journey of dwelling with certain inner pre-occupations, which searches for ways and forms that touch upon the principles of life. It is a depiction of signs felt in dreams and certain moments of wakefulness.
Within the lines and mesh structures drawn by the artist, lie the thought and pathos of her surroundings and herself. The artist has seeked to look at elements that hold and move as also the paradoxes of movement and transition: human beliefs, exodus and return, divisions, identity, and a longing for the universal even in things little and small.
