Acharya Mudigonda Sivaprasad is releasing his new book "Pattabhi" on 7th June at Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha. The evening starts with a Kuchipudi dance recital by Ramya Teja. The chief guest for the evening will be Mandali Buddha Prasad, Minister for Animal Husbandry. The other guests for the function will be Dr. Rallabandi Kavita Prasad, Director of Department of Culture; Padmabhushan and Gnanpeeth awardee Dr. C Narayana Reddy; and Justice Ramana, High Court of A P.
Pattabhi is a historical workpiece, and is based on the life of the great Hindu leader Vasireddy Venkatadri Naidu, who ruled Amravarthi (Guntur being its capital) as the Kama dynasty king during the 18th century. The main highlight of the book is that this is the first time a book has been written on King Vasireddy and the Kama Dynasty in Telugu history.
Acharya Sivaprasad earned his Ph D in 1971 from Osmania University in the subject "Effect Of Various Movements On Modern Telugu Poetry" and now works as a professor there. He has carved a niche for himself as a writer of historical novels in Telugu, and is known all over the world for his gracious style and tempo. He has written 70 books as of date, Anubhava Mantapam, Avahana and Sri Paadarchana being some of his popular ones.
