Children from Pakistan and India play cricket for peace. Let's just hope that this time peace is given all the chance it needs.
These children are part of a special contingent that is travelling to 8 cities all over the country under a special program called 'Beyond Boundaries.' Supporting them will be 6,000 more children from various schools of Hyderabad.
'Beyond Boundaries' is a unique program that is bringing together underprivileged children from India and Pakistan in a bid to promote peace and solidarity between the two nations. In the first phase of the program last year, a group of Indian children went across the border and took with them a powerful message of peace. This year again, through a series of friendly cricket matches that will serve as a platform of interaction, these children will meet members of civil society, dignitaries, celebrities and other children from all over the country and attempt to understand the reason for strife between the nations by exchanging ideologies on peace.
Naandi Foundation, an NGO working with 1,500 government schools in the state, is hosting the 60-member delegation in Hyderabad and organising the peace cricket match, apart from a series of other interactive activities over two days.
