Here's some more fusion for the season. Bacardi Megamixx is bringing one of India's heart throb DJs - DJ Suketu and Midival Punditz, this Saturday, for a rocking night at Treasure Island.
Winner of the World DJ Mixing Championships, Suketu came out with his first album, "440 Volts", in April 2003. His club mix, Bin Tere Sanam, a song from the bombed 1990 movie Yaara Dildaara, is a blockbuster hit and a popular number among pub-goers. It also entered the Top 10 in the FM Airplay Charts in UK.
Suketu's other popular hits include Pyar Zindagi Hai, Bombay In My Soul, Jalta Hai Jiya, Karma Theme, Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, Kya Khoob Lagti Ho and the song Lamhe from the movie Zeher.
Midival Punditz is an Indian fusion group consisting of two Delhi-based musicians, Gaurav Raina and Tapan Raj. Their style revolves mostly around bhangra, jungle, electronica and North-Indian classical music. Their songs commonly feature traditional Indian instruments, such as the dhol, tumbi, sarangi, sitar and bansuri, but also feature more modern instruments such as the synthesizer and drum machine.
They have worked with Anoushka Shankar, Kailash Kher, Thaarey Rahiyo, Ustad Sultan Khan and Vishal Vaid. The band has also released two albums - MIDIval Punditz (2002) and Midival Times (2005).
