Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj is organising the 37th Pandit Motiram Pandit Maniram Sangeet Samaroh, from 27th to 30th November, at the Chowmahalla Palace. This year, 10 artistes, including upcoming as well as senior performers, will perform during the 4-day festival. Senior Hindustani vocalist Ulhas Kashalkar will perform the 2nd recital on the second day of the festival.
Ulhas Kashalkar, one of the prime representatives of the Gwalior and Jaipur gharanas, was initiated into music by his father N D Kashalkar, an able musicologist. A gold medallist at his post-graduation in music, Ulhas Kashalkar was later trained by Pandit Ram Marathe and Pandit Gajananbua Joshi, both stalwarts of Hindustani classical music.
Kashalkar's gayaki is especially noted for pure traditional rendering with his own aesthetic interpretation. He has performed extensively all over India and abroad. He has toured USA and Canada 4 times, UK and UAE twice, and Bangladesh, France and Switzerland once, on various concert tours.

In memory of his late father Pandit Motiram, and his brother Pandit Maniram, Pandit Jasraj, in association with the Department of Culture, organizes an annual music festival in Hyderabad. It is usually held at the Nizam College grounds, which was where his father and his brother taught music to several students. The festival has been on for over 35 years.
