Remember V Ramakrishna? The old playback singer that used to be a contemporary of Ghantasala was also a disciple of his, and has sung over 5,000 songs. And it is only befitting that he should be felicitated at the Ghantasala Aaradhanotsavalu.
Held by the Sri Veenapani Sastry Kalapeetham, this day will see the singer honored with a swarnakanakadharana, a kanakabhishekam and a "Cine Gaana Kalanidhi" title. There will also be seva puraskars to 8 persons who have done work in the arts (lalitha kalalu).
The evening will start with Ghantasala songs by Nanduri Laksman's troupe. The chief guest will be P Chandrasekhar, the law minister, and the other guest include Babu Mohan, Udaya Bhanu, Sai Kiran (of Nuvve Kaavaali fame) and Vijaychander. Please contact 760-3238 for further details.
