If the afternoonly rumbles in the skies of the past two days made you think that Hyderabad has made it to bin Laden's map at least, then the IAF would actually feel flattered. Yes, that was our own men, and today they are doing it officially.
This display by the pilots of Indian Air Force of aerial feats is taking place in coordination with the Department Of Tourism to mark the Tourism Day Fete. Formation Aerobatics by the famous Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team of the IAF; Fly Past by fighter aircraft, transport aircraft and helicopters; Sky Diving by "Akash Ganga", the Indian team from Agra; and jumping from an MI-8 helicopter from 8,000 feet are the events that are going to take place.
The civil aviation authorities will seal off the airspace over Hyderabad so that helicopters, transport and fighter planes can safely participate in the air display. Aircraft pieces falling over your head can be more impactful than Diwali rocket pieces, right? The entire area around the Hussain Sagar, the Necklace Road and NTR Marg will also be closed for general traffic.
The sanitation teams of the MCH are taking special care and working overtime to keep the area around the lake free of garbage so that the aircraft and pilots do not run the risk of bird hits. The MCH advises people to cooperate in this regard and not throw garbage or waste outside that can attract birds.
The APSRTC is plying special buses in the city to transport people to the venue of the air display at the People's Plaza on the Necklace Road.
