Sometimes you wonder about economic logic behind the career choices of some people, and then realize that God must be taking care of his passionate artists. This group of youngsters tries to do things that only a lot of passion can fuel, and that can only result need for lots of government support. Cheers to them, we suppose!
As part of the ongoing West Bengal festival called "Rupasi Bangla Fest" being organized by the Department of Tourism And Culture, a group of young artists comprising Mahesh, Sanjit, Soumen, Mukul, Eugene, Sujit, Shiladitya and Vishwanath are holding a camp and an exhibition of their paintings at the Ravindra Bharathi.
The artists belong to a group called Reflection of Another Day, based at Kolkata. The group goes around villages exhibiting its works and interacting with people, and aims at bringing artists together. Putting their full effort behind it, they have brought together writers, poets, painters and filmmakers while doing several shows and camps.
Some of the artists of this group have also exhibited their paintings at the Salarjung Museum a few years back, and have organized exhibitions in Delhi, too. Please contact Varma at 323-3672 for further details.
