The Tarakarama Cultural Association is celebrating the 85th birth anniversary of Late Dr. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on 28th May, at Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha, located at Chikkadpally. As part of these annual celebrations, each year it felicitates a renown person of the film industry with the NTR Award. This year, it has chosen Geetanjali, film actress, and Nutan Prasad, actor.
On this occasion, there will be a musical nite where singers Bala Kameshwar Rao, Mitra and party will sing songs from NTR movies. Purandeswari Devi, the daughter of NTR, is the chief guest of the evening, and Dr. A Manjulatha, the vice-chancellor of Telugu University, will be the guest of honor. The association will also donate money to orphanages and physically handicapped people.
This Tarakarama Cultural Association was found 32 years ago in 1976, and has about 10 active members and 100 members. It organizes events on the occasions of NTR's birth and death anniversaries.
