Give the art of story-telling dance another shot. Nrithyanjali School of Bharatanatya is organising a festival of Bharatanatyam on the occassion of the Ruby Jubilee of its dance school at Ravindra Bharathi on 3rd September.
The celebrations will start with bharatanatyam dance recitals by the students of the school, namely Keerthi, Sneha, Vandana, Deepti, Shilpa, Saroja, Akhila and more. They will present a Bharatanatyam Ballet called Puttadi Bomma Purnamma, a story written by Late Gurajada Apparao Panthulu.
Nrithyanjali School of Bharatanatya had been established in the year 1966 by Jidugu Visalakshi, with the aim of teaching the art of bharatanatyam dance to the keen learners. Over the last 40 years, innumerable students passed out of this institute and made a mark on the dancing tradition.
Prominent students from here are Alakananda and Menaka Ram Mohan (both famous dancers of Houston, USA), Padmaja, Shyamalatha, Ayesha Magdaleena (all promoting this dance art in other countries).
The chief guest for these celebrations is Justice D Appa Rao, Judge, AP High Court. The other special guests are a Manjulatha, Vice-Chancellor of Potti Sriramula Telugu University & G V Narayana Rao, Movie and TV Actor.
