Apart from housewives debating and speculating for hours about them, over chopped tomatoes and chillies, it is awards like these that are the raison detre of TV soaps and dramas. This 11th Annual Radio And TV Awards function is being organised by Aaradhana, on the 3rd of March at Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha.
J. Geeta Reddy, the tourism minister will be the chief-guest, while industrialist S. Arepally Kondala Rao will distribute the awards. The function will be inaugurated by C. Ramakrishna, ex General Manager , South Central Railways.
The winners this time are retd. AIR music-director Sri Palagummi Vishwanathan and AIR announcer Smt. Akila Seeta Devi. Best TV serial from Doordarshan will go to Bommarillu, while best TV serial from ETV will go to Sri Bhagavatam. Gemini's Manasulo Maata, and Ummari Kutumabam also walk away with awards, while best director goes to Rasool from ETV. Best actor is Krishna Kaushik and best actress is Shilpa Chakravorty.
