In a weather where you just can't seem to find any shadows (except if you are
counting the shady promises you hear from your local water works officer about
supply being better the day after tomorrow), here's a whole lot of them in just
Chaitanya Art Theaters is a social and cultural organization that was established in 1984 to stand as a symbol of quality and to conduct programs to encourage thousands of amateur artists in Andhra Pradesh. For the past 18 years, the organization has conducted several cultural functions to protect and promote Indian culture and heritage. It has established records in organizing cultural functions for several days at a stretch, and at several theaters on the same day in Hyderabad. And it keeps breaking its own records …like it is now.
In this New Year of 2002, from the 1st of January to the end of the month, the organization is conducting various cultural programs and is also felicitating prominent personalities from various cultural domains.
The program schedule for the 8th of January 2002 is as follows:
6:30pm: Felicitation to Dr K Seshagiri Rao and Dr P R Raju
6:30pm - 7:20pm:
(a) Shadow Play by K Krishna Murthy
(b) Kuchipudi by Suhasini Nayudu
(c) Chittibommalata by the Hyderabad Puppet Theater (direction: M Rajya Laxmi)
(d) Folk dance by Baby Chella Sneha
8pm - 9pm:
Jugalbandi by Srikanth Sathe (Mumbai)
Magic show by Goutam (Vijaywada)
Acharya N Gopi, Vice Chancellor, Sri Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, will preside over the function along with Chandana Khan, Principle Secretary - Tourism, B Krupanandam, Commissioner - Intermediate Board and Rekha Rani, Director - Cultural Department.
