Mr. Naidu is really one CM who gives us plenty of other reasons for being happy that he leads us than the one that a certain Mr. ABV does - which is, what is the alternative? Here's one more cap in the state government's IT cap.
The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and the Government of Andhra Pradesh are organizing 'Gitex Hyderabad', the first mega IT event of communication and information technology, at various venues like the Taj Krishna, the Taj Residency and the Necklace Road.
The highlights of the 3-day event will be (a) 50 IT companies taking part, (b) a parallel conference named 'The India IT Forum' (being organized by the CII), and (3) an event called 'IT For The Common Man'. Another highlight will be the announcement of the 'Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) Policy' by the Chief Minister, as also the inauguration of the State Government's portal.
This is the first time that the DWTC has agreed to hold Asia's premier IT exhibition in Hyderabad, and has planned a massive show on 3000 sq meters and with 300 participants. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Communications and IT will participate in the inaugural session.
Despite adverse conditions, the government and the DWTC decided to go ahead and have succeeded in attracting big names like IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, HSBC, Orillion and Vanenburg, besides some companies from the Dubai Internet City like Tejari.com, to take part in the fair.
