Sri Pothana Bhagavatha Seva Trust is releasing a book titled Rasadhwani, written by Late Utpala Satyanarayanacharya, on 22nd April, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha in Chikkadpally. The book will be released by poet Dr. Tirunagari, and will be dedicated to Swami Ramakrishnananda of Yogananda Saraswati Ashram, Vizag, who will read excerpts from it.
Rasadhwani is a collection of poems on Sri Krishna Tatvam, explaining beautifully about Lord Krishna, starting from his birth, and going on to his flirting and his slaying of Kamsa.
Utpala Satyanarayanacharya is a renown poet who won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2003 for his work Sri Krishna Chandrodayam, and also the Hamsa Award from the Government of Andhra Pradesh for his distinguished service to literature, in 2001. He was the permanent poet and critic for Andhra Bhoomi magazine.
His other well-known writings include Gajendra Moksham, Bramara Geetamu, Gopi Geetamu, Rajamata, Venu Geetamu and Yashodananda Gehini. He expired on 23rd October, 2007, leaving behind a treasure of literature for the present generation.
Sri Pothana Bhagavatha Seva Trust was started in 1998 by M Rukmini, a die-hard fan of the writings of Utpala Satyanarayana and Pothana. She got a temple built for Pothana, the only one of its kind, to prove her dedication towards the great poet. She is also felicitating Nellutla Sandhya, the eighth generation descendant of Pothana.
