Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad, in collaboration with the BJ Institute, is presenting a lecture on vocational training by Prof. Strahm from Switzerland, on 19th March. The talk is being conducted at the Goethe-Zentrum office in Hermitage Complex, Opp. AP Legislative Assembly.
The speaker will discuss Vocational Education And Training (VET), a program that enables young people to enter the labour market, and ensures that there are enough specialists and managers in the future. Most VET programs consist of part-time studies at a vocational school combined with a part-time apprenticeship at a host company, after which there are over 200 careers to choose from.
Former Swiss National Concillor, Rudolf Strahm was Price Regulator of Switzerland from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that he was National Councillor for 13 years. He studied chemical sciences and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 5 years. He later studied management and economics at the University of Berne. He led several business associations, and is now a lecturer and writer. His latest book
