The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Vasavi College Of Engineering is organising its annual technical symposium Acumen '10, from 19th to 20th March, at the college campus in Ibrahimbagh, Gandipet Road.
The annual event seeks to achieve the communication of innovative ideas that promote the cause of the technological advantage among the students, and also to keep them abreast with the latest advances in their respective fields. It also opens a window to participants to interact with people from different backgrounds and upgrade their knowledge.
This year, several fun-filled technical games have been introduced. The following are the happening events of the fest:
Paper Presentation - Presentation of papers on various pre-announced topics in the fields of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Poster Presentation - Make your visuals voice your ideas on the subject of your interest
Technical Exhibition - Showcase your talents by demonstrating your already done project or model
Robotics - This robot game is divided into three events:
Hell In A Cell - Let your robot take the floor by letting it compete with its challengers.
Robo Soccer - Your football-playing robot is going to do the hectic job of taking home the award.
VTA Elektri-City - Electrify the city... well... obviously, the burden of making the city glow will all be in the hands of your robot. The robot of the brightest city bags the final prize.
On The Spot
Maze - A new format of quizzing on the usual with hurdles to conquer and reach your destination. Questions asked and answered get a bonus.
Memory Trix - Test the power of your sub-conscious - the 3 magical words that will help you sail through this event are "look", "register" and "recollect".
Quick Connect - If you are a connoisseur of circuits, then prove your mettle by participating in this event - connect a particular circuit as soon as possible and as "apt" at possible, and walk away with exciting prizes.
Globe Trekker - Geography and GK are the keys to success for this very game. Travel around the world with your Google map, and also earn money just by answering a few simple questions about the places you
