A zillion events, and Parikrama, Euphoria, Band Of Boys and Aurko to wash it all down. The biggest inter-collegiate festival in town is a new kid on the block.
Ramoji Film City is hosting Yuva Fest 2007 from 30th January till 3rd February, 9:00am till 8:00pm each day. Yuva Fest 2007 is an Inter-Collegiate Youth Festival, intended to create a platform for young & talented students to showcase their skills in various literary and cultural fields.
The competitions will be held in various categories:
Band/Youth Orchestra/Instrumental
Open only to amateurs. A band should consist of a minimum of 3 persons and a maximum of 8, with one entry per institution allowed. 10 minutes per band will be given, and it must feature at least one original composition. Participants must bring their own instruments. The winner will be crowned The Yuva Band, and will get a chance to give a full-fledged performance on the final day.
Solo And Group Dance
Only Western and traditional Dances will be allowed. There can be between 4 and 10 participants in a team. The duration of the performance should not exceed 5 minutes.
Solo Singing
Only film & classical songs will be allowed, and the duration of performance is limited to 3 minutes with a grace period of 1 minute. Two participants in one category from one institution will be permitted.
Mr & Miss Yuva 2007
Divided into three rounds. Round one will consist of Ramp Walk, Ethnic Wear and Denim Wear. Round two will have Talent Showcasing with the participant given 2 minutes to showcase his/her talent, by presenting a unique act which will showcase that talent to the maximum. Round three consists of Judges Talk. 60 seconds will be given to think and one minute to express oneself relevantly on the topic given by the judge on the spot.
The duration of performance for each round will strictly be 3 minutes. All clothes and accessories have to be arranged for by the participant, and the organizing committee is responsible only for the infrastructural facilities.
Whiz Quiz Competition
Only one entry per institution will be allowed, and the team size should not exceed three.
Winners of the competitions will get grand prizes, including foreign trips, laptops and scholarships. In addition to all the above competitions, there's lots of entertainment. Laser shows, DJ music and Dare Devil stunt shows will takeover during the evening. Workshops in Aerobics/Dance, Beauty Therapy, Flower Decoration, Photography, Television Anchoring, Professional Advice On Career Paths and The Reporter In You (a newspaper-related event) will be organised twice a day, for one hour each.
There are also Jabberwocky, Puzzles, Antakshari, Tambola, American Auction, Caricaturist (sketching live pictures), Tarot Card Reader and Parrot Card Reader predicting future, and Tug-Of-War, during the day.
Indi-rock lovers are in for a treat. There will be live performances by Indian music bands, like Euphoria scheduled for 30th January, Remo Fernandez for 31st January, Parikrama for 1st February, Band Of Boys for 2nd February, and Aurko and the winning Yuva Band on the final day. International food courts serving Indian, Chinese and Continental are there for the food-lovers.
