The Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad, in association with Seagrams 100 Pipers and The Park Hyderabad, is presenting a world music concert by the French band Yapa, on 12th November, at the Park Hotel, Somajiguda.
This is Yapa's first India tour. They are opening their tour in Hyderabad, followed by performances at Bangalore, Mysore, Trivandrum, Madras and Pondicherry, before finally ending their tour in Mumbai on 1st December 2010.
Yapa is a group of 4 friends - 3 guitarists (Fabrice Bourguignat, Simon Chenet, Christophe Combet) and a percussionist (Xavier Hamon) - who have been going to the same gigs and the same bars since they were at school together, in the Paris suburbs.
In the last 8 years, the band has brought out 2 self-produced instrumental albums, reinvesting the fees from gigs to make first "Chroniques d'Endoo" and then "Can I Talk To You?", a live recording of a tour in the East through the Balkans.
