The Hyderabad Film Club is screening a Telugu film 'Sontha Ooru', with English sub-titles, on 12th November, at Prasad Labs Preview Theatre.
The film has been directed by P Sunil Kumar Reddy, and has L B Sriram, Thanikella Bharani, Jayaprakash Reddy, Raja, Thirtha, Jeeva, Vijaychander, Rallapalli and Swathi.
L B Sriram penned "Sonta Ooru" based on the SEZ issue. The film depicts the issue of the government acquiring fertile lands and converting them into factories and mines to help MNCs, as a result of which, farmers are forced to search for an alternative profession and are turning into labourers and rickshaw-pullers.
