Kalam Creating Artisans Society is organising a wedding collections exhibition at Taj Banjara on 10th April. The unique solo exhibition has all varieties of wedding collections in rich Kalamkari, embroidered saris in Kanjeevaram, Uppada, crepes, chiffons and Kotas. The work includes embroidery, Khari and hand prints. The display also includes traditional half-saris in raw silk. Vegetable dyes have also been used to create designs on cloth, a style of dyeing which flourished at Kalahasti.
The prices of wedding saris start at Rs. 5,000 and go up to Rs. 1,50,000. Tollywood actress Jayasudha is going to inaugurate the exhibition.
Kalam Creating Artisans Society was founded by Mamata Reddy 20 years ago in Tirupati. The Society has developed a reputation all over India and abroad in this period, and has served talented under-privileged girls by giving them an opportunity to work and earn.
