Saptaswara Cultural Organization is organising the Dakshina Bharatiya Sangeeta Navaratrotsavamulu from 2nd to 10th November, at the Kala Subbarao Kala Vedika, the mini-hall of Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha. The nine-day festival has two music concerts daily, featuring special kritis of the Music Trinity (Thyagaraja, Muthuswamy Dikshitar and Syama Sastry), specially Dikshitar's Navagraha and Navavarna kritis.
Today, the final day of this spectacular musci event will see Bhrathi Subramanyam performing vocal recital. This is the final vocal recital of the day and also of the event, which will start at 7:30pm and will last till 8:30pm and will be followed by the closing ceremony of this event, Dr C Narayana Reddy will be the cheif guest for the evening.
Bharathi Subramanyam, M Com, has completed M.A. in music with 1st rank. She is spontaneous and quick learner, these qualities has helped her to reach peaks in the music. She has learned music from musical legends and has applauded by the musicians and music lovers, for her performances. She has sung Sri Satya Sai Sahsranama Stotram in 'Raaga Malika' (33 raagas) and got blessings from Sri Satya Sai Baba. She is one of the well admired and eminent artist.
After the vocal recitals, there will be a closing ceremony of this event. Dr C Narayana Reddy will be the chief guest, along with many musicians and guests.
The event is organised by Saptaswara, a cultural organization founded by K S R Balakrishna Sastry. He is a retired head-master who has also performed as an artiste on radio and TV, from 1952 to 2005. A disciple of Dr. M Balamurali Krishna, he has performed a number of times with him.
